Somos Arte: The Creative Movement of El Salvador is a documentary series highlighting contemporary artists in post-war El Salvador. Erick Sanchez and Jonathan Barrera, both Salvadorans, are the creators behind the project. In this episode they talk about all the love, passion, and work that went into creating this love letter to El Salvador.
Erick Sanchez is a Los Angeles based music producer, editor, audio engineer, and podcaster. He’s the founder of Normandie Records, a record label and media company working with artists in the United States and Latin America. Erick is the Executive Producer, Editor, and Writer for Somos Arte Documentary.
Jonathan Barrera was born in San Salvador and migrated to LA at age five. After college, he worked in the family restaurant business which has been serving the Salvi community in LA since the 80s. He’s also worked in TV and Film production as a second career. In his latest project Somos Arte, he serves as the co-creator, director, and executive producer to his team at Normandie Records.
